Well, as the “Dog Days” of summer have been hitting us at Wine
Lake, the people and the fishing have been just as hot! Following the weather, we have seen the US
shrouded in intense heat. We have been
lucky, and avoided most of it. However,
the last couple weeks have brought some of the higher temperatures you all have
had for months. We had our first day
that hit 90 degrees, and have had several in the 80’s. The good news for us is that our evenings
have still been relatively cool and we even had one-day last week that was a
high of 67 degrees. Our rain for the
last 2 weeks is almost non existent as well.
With the warmer temperatures many have taken to the lake for cooling
off- even the Deer.
It was so warm Even Doc got into the mix with Hawaiian Night
Once again fishing was outstanding as the past two
tournament winners and others can attest
Most were eating fish nightly and making sure to count
correctly as for the 2nd time in 3 weeks the MNR paid Wine Lake a
visit
As with most summers when the heat comes people start
getting a little wacky (think the heat gets too them
But like many things Ice Cream seems to help cool everyone
off
and settle everyone down a bit
Some groups decided it was a perfect week to enjoy a shore
lunch and take in the view of the south end of Wine Lake
As the weeks continue to fly by and I get to meet all the
amazing people who enjoy being at Wine Lake I try to stop and think how lucky I
am to be here to help all of the people enjoy themselves and unwind from
their daily lives. Each week this year I
have had the pleasure of meeting a new group of strangers and see them leave as
friends. It is the magic of the place
that brings us all together.
